King still has an excellent fashion sense. New Tekken 8 King gameplay from the trailer something is clearly visible. Fans will be excited to see legendary fighters like Paul Phoenix, Marshall Law and King return to the ring and new faces join the fray. It's inevitable that some visual fidelity that is possible on UE5 had to be sacrificed to keep the framerate 100% consistent.Creator Bandai Namco returns to the ring as Tekken 8 ushers in a new era for the venerable fighting game franchise. This is not like a UFC or a boxing game where small framerate dips are acceptable for maximum character and background detail. There's already been a bunch of current gen only games that have constant stutters and drops in performance mode. Yes, it's two characters on screen, but a game like Tekken must be running at a rock solid 60fps at all times on every platform. I wouldn't even be surprised if it gets visual updates post launch.Īlso, the "considering the genre" quote here is something I disagree with strongly. I already think T8 looks pretty good and I think it's going to keep looking better and better as we get closer to release. I literally remember the exact same "it looks like last gen, what a disappointment" reactions to footage like this:īut between the arcade and the console release, the game got a big upgrade with higher texture quality and way better lighting. Something a lot of people forget is that the original arcade-only version of Tekken 7, which came out years before the console versions, actually looked way worse than the console versions and was basically an early access version of the game.
